Ladybird theme Crib sheet set

I woke up today feeling like I had stones hanging from my head. For the last few days I haven’t been feeling well. Third trimester is tiring and my little baby has been keeping me up all night and I’m left with continuous headaches all through the day. However I’ve been trying my best to get everything ready for the time I get to the hospital. I’ve already packed all of the baby’s stuff in a cute basket and am halfway through packing my bag.

And as promised in the previous post here are the pictures of the crib sheet set I sewed. It has two pillow covers; two bolster covers and one crib sheet. I made it a ladybird theme. I’m also thinking of making a matching diaper stacker since I have some left over fabric.

Anyways hope you all have a wonderful day. I don’t think I will be blogging much from now on since I’m taking my maternity leave tomorrow. I know not many people are reading my nonsense but to anyone who has ever visited, thanks a lot. Hopefully I’ll be back after delivery. Till then ta-ta!

Sewing for baby

Just sharing with you three little dresses I made for my little baby to arrive. (EDD 19th March, gender unknown)
Yup, I'm in my last few weeks now..excited,scared and nervous!!!

I used baby cotton to make all three dresses using patterns I made on my own. This is my first time sewing small dresses as well as making bias tape and I must say it wasn't easy at first. But as using bias tape brings such beautiful finishing touches to any project, I'm glad I went on with it.
The first two dresses have snap buttons and the third one has a tie back.

I have also finished sewing three sets of crib sheets with matching pillow and bolster covers. Will post pictures soon.

Till then,bye bye:)

Today, I’m feeling lucky....

That I’m pregnant. I’m lucky that I’m healthy enough to carry the little one within me. During the first three months I kept thinking I wouldn’t make it through, that I was too weak. I had Hyperemesis Gravidarum and it was the worst three months of my life. I couldn’t walk on my own couldn’t eat or drink anything. Even talking made me nauseous. However, I am now in my 32nd week of pregnancy and feeling way better than before. I feel lucky that it all got better. That my baby is healthy and growing well.

My heart goes out to all of them who had had to go through miscarriages or necessary abortions. I know it must be painful. There are so many people around me who had been trying to conceive, for months, some for years. Only now do I know how hard it must be for them. I know your pain ladies; hopefully someday soon you’ll be where I am today. I pray for that.

Just a short post

Hi everyone. Just popping in to show you a pic of the bag I mentioned in my Polka-dot Tie bag post. The one I made for a sister of a friend of mine.

The first pic shows the real colours of the bag. Somehow I couldn't get the lighting right in the second one. So, let me know what you think about it:)

5+1 months:)

My little baby bump just turned 6 months and I’m not feeling little anymore. My bump is growing bigger day by day. Quiet an active baby I must say. Though the doc said that my baby is a little smaller than “normal”, considering all the kicking he/she(haven't checked the gender yet) is doing, I think my bundle of joy is doing just fine. So apart from being totally pregnant for the first time, I’ve been trying to sew a few bags and other stuff. Here are two bags I finished last week.

It took me more time than usual to make these coz I had to get up and walk around a bit every fifteen minutes to reduce my back pain. I’ve also been looking through the net for sewing tutorials for the nursery and for the baby. Glad to say that I found really helpful tutorials, here are just few of the great links.

Polka Dot tie bag:)

I know I’m a bit careless with posting on the blog but I’m trying to get better at it. However the good news is even though I’m not blogging I’ve been a bit creative the past few weeks:)

So, I’d like to share with you a bag I made. I’ve been meaning to make a black bag for me for sometime now and finally got to making it yesterday. It’s a small evening bag with pleats in the front and back. I also included three pockets in the inside for my phone, lip gloss and my office entry card. I used corduroy for the lining and velvet as the outer fabric, both black color. Finally I added a polka dot tie to the front to complete the bag. I think it turned out good. What do you think?

I’m sorry that the pictures are not that clear. Last week I read in something that using natural light in your pictures makes it look way better. However I used flash in my pic, maybe that’s the reason why it’s not that clear. So I’ll be sure to use that advice next time:)

I also made a pink bag yesterday. It was for a sister of a friend of mine. I used a heavy weight linen kind of fabric. I don’t have a picture of it at the moment but will post them soon. Was a bit busy making the bags so couldn’t take more pictures.

Hope you all have a nice day. Ta-ta:)
